Indeed, once a methodology is transported from its context of origin, and presented to different learner groups, it becomes an example of an intercultural encounter.

ICC can be defined as the process occurring when the producers and receivers of a message belong
to different cultures. This definition can be applied to ELT when the teacher, teaching methodology and/or materials are the products of one (sub)culture, and the receivers are members of other (sub)cultures.
